The CMS CY 27 Hospice Proposed Rule was released on April 06, 2026 and we are waiting on the final approval of the rule. While waiting for the final rule we can utilize the information provided in the proposed rule to anticipate any changes to budgets and identify proposed changes to regulations.  

In this webinar we will review the data and wage index proposed including the increase in cap amounts. A focus on proposed changes to the Hospice Election Statement, new Service Spending Variation Index (SSVI) and hospice face to face encounter changes.

We will also address the proposed CY27 Home Health request for further information on providing palliative care services as part of the home health benefit and how this may impact hospice services.

Each year CMS releases a proposed wage index rule that includes Medicare data points wage index changes and quality reporting data.
