Biography:

Sherrie Thevel, MS, CPC, CPC-I, CRC, CPMA, CPPM, CMRM, RCMS, is a seasoned healthcare revenue cycle expert with over 25 years of experience spanning all areas of the industry. She is the CEO and Owner of Cycle One MD, where she helps healthcare organizations streamline their revenue cycle operations to improve financial outcomes and compliance. Sherrie has presented nationally for AAPC and other organizations, and proudly served on the AAPC National Advisory Board from 2018 to 2021.

Her leadership extends to the local level, where she has held multiple officer roles in her AAPC local chapter, including President, Vice President, and Education Officer, supporting the professional development of coding and billing professionals in her community.

Sherrie currently leads a team of coder auditors at a healthcare payer, focusing on risk adjustment and audit strategy. She also spent 18.5 years at Washington School of Medicine, including several years as a revenue cycle manager. Her passion lies in correcting broken processes within the revenue cycle so that providers can focus on patient care, not paperwork.

Outside of her professional work, she serves as Vice President of the Spanish American Girls Society (SAGS) and remains an advocate for education, leadership, and integrity in healthcare operations.
