Biography:

Jon Knight BS, CPC, is the author and presenter of this webinar.  After serving in the US Army, he attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where he received a Bachelor of Science in healthcare administration in 1983. Shortly thereafter, he was hired by Blue Cross of California. His tenure there included claims management, risk management, and employee training. Over time, he worked for three other large national health insurance companies, primarily with the same roles. In 1996, he left the health insurance industry and began consulting with healthcare providers regarding their reimbursement cycle issues, including risk analysis and compliance planning, and policymaking.

In 2006, Mr. Knight received certification as a Certified Professional Coder from the American Academy of Professional Coders. He began teaching a course entitled “Medical Insurance Billing and Coding,” first at Bryman School and then at two other career colleges. He is the founder and principal of San Tan University, which is dedicated to instructing students in MIBC with the goal of professional certification. He also tutors students on passing the AAPC CPC exam.
